We welcome Matia institute as the newest member of ICoP.

Matia's representative for ICoP Cristina Buiza has a PhD in Health Psychology at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, with doctoral dissertation titled: “Assessment and conceptualization of cognitive functioning in people with advanced Alzheimer´s Disease”; Master Degree in Gerontology at Universidad del País Vasco; Master Degree in Clinical Neuropsychology at Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona and Master Degree in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Third Generation Therapies at ACT Institute Madrid.

Cristina has been working more than 20 years in the field of the attention and research of elderly people with dementia, specially dedicated to the more advanced stages of dementia, combining research with clinical intervention, both in nursing homes and hospital. She has authored several papers in scientific journals and participated in national and international conferences.

Currently, she is working full time as a researcher at Matia Institute. To read more about her, follow the links -
